OK-UP was created and facilitated by OSU-Tulsa faculty and graduate students, as well as the OSU Cooperative Extension. OK-UP seeks to to meet the need for parenting education in the state through community outreach. It is one of the first parenting initiatives of its kind in Oklahoma.

Why: Helps meet volunteer certification requirements! Receive the latest 4-H information. Meet and visit with other volunteers and parents! Your clubs representation at all VOICE meetings helps your club become a Gold Banner Club.
County Officers will be there to play games and do activities with the kids during the meeting.

Location: Oklahoma Science Museum in Oklahoma City
Cost: $45 for kids 5 and up, $25 for adults
Theme: Grossology
Who can attend? Everyone! The science museum program is perfect for 8-12 year old youth, but every age seems to enjoy the evening.
Note: Each club/county/family group is responsible for the youth that attend with them. Chaperones are not provided. Transportation to the event is on your own.

Spring Livestock Show- Cattle, Goats, Sheep, & Poultry

What: 2019 Spring Livestock Show
When: February 28 and March 1, 2019
Where: Tulsa State Fairgrounds, Mustang Arena
Notes: Entry forms are available at the 4-H Office and are due to the 4-H office by February 8. There will be a $10.00 entry fee per head for cattle, sheep, swine, and goats due the day of the show in cash. Rabbits and Poultry will have a $3.00 entry fee per head the day of the show. Spring Livestock Show book is posted online.

What: 4-H Day @ The Capitol
When: April 1st, 2019
Who: Any 4-H club officers, or teen leaders 13 years of age and older, and actively involved in Tulsa County 4-H can attend this event. It is designed to educate youth about the legislative process, and help them interact with their respective elected officials by telling them about the 4-H program. Registration Forms are posted on the extension website, and will be due by February 11th. As a county we can take up to 8 youth to this event, so get your registrations in early!
Notes: Transportation to this event is provided by the Tulsa County 4-H Office. It is typically held at the State Capitol Building in Oklahoma City. Youth and adult volunteers attending this event will depart together from the Extension Office @ 5 a.m. on April 1st in order to arrive in Oklahoma City in time for registration. Please call Lisa Nicholson at 918-746-3722 for additional details, and dress code for this event.

10th Annual Chautauqua Conference on Family Resilience 
February 22, 2019
The 2019 Chautauqua will focus on the relationship between family resilience and recovery from addiction, with a focus on opioids. Scholars will present information on etiology of substance use disorders on the family system, as well as new research on resilience in addiction recovery. Moderated panel discussions will focus on how research can be used to inform society's understanding of addiction with particular attention to solving the opioid epidemic, decreasing the prevalence of addiction, and preventing its occurrence in younger generations.
